Calling on the Lord, Anonymous

One of the most common practices for believers in the New Testament is that of calling on the name of the Lord (Romans 10:13). There are frequent references to this throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation (Genesis 4:26; Revelation 22:20). However, despite this practice appearing repeatedly in the Bible, this was a practice that my Christian life lacked for the first few years. Then, one day I met some believers who held the Word of God above all else and they pointed out this practice in the Bible to me. I was a little surprised to find something mentioned so frequently in the Word of God that I knew nothing of, but there it was. So after being instructed that it was as simple as saying to the Lord, “Oh, Lord Jesus,” we first called on the Lord three times together. I really felt the Holy Spirit and I also felt closer to Jesus. I was very happy to find a way to help myself to love the Lord more. I am grateful to the Lord to this day for helping me to find out how to call on the name of the Lord.
